A Two-Day Children and Young Adults |
|
Painting Realistic Portraits in PastelSaturday & Sunday, March 19 & 20, 2016Award winning and Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, Lisa Ober will be conducting a two-day, hands-on workshop sharing her experience creating pastel portraits. Lisa’s step-by-step approach to teaching pastel portraiture insures that when you complete this workshop you will know how to develop a portrait from the first sketch through signing the painting and framing. But then Lisa will take the workshop further by discussing how to market, promote and sell your portrait services. Whether you are a novice at creating pastel portraits or have a lifetime of experience you will gain a wealth of insights and ideas as Lisa shows you all the “tricks” of the trade she has mastered through thirty years of portrait painting. Every student will have the opportunity to paint a pastel portrait with plenty of Lisa's personal guidance and encouragement. The workshop will be limited to 16 artists so everyone will receive plenty of personal guidance from Lisa. She will provide the U-art paper. You need to provide your own pastels, a ground cloth and easel. We have tables if you prefer to work flat. We will be working from a photograph, which we will provide. It's a two-day workshop, and includes snacks, and Diane's famous healthy lunches both days. Price for the workshop will be $350. |

WHEN: Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, March, 2016 COSTS: $350 includes, snacks and lunch. Workshop fee is refundable, less $50, up to February 20th, after that date it will be refunded only if someone takes your place. Make sure you include your address, telephone number and e-mail address. A supply list, a description of the workshop agenda and directions to the workshop location will be sent to you by March 1st.
NOTE: While working from life is ideal, to keep the workshop on pace and insure everyone has a quality reference, the class will work from photographs. If painting pastel portraits is a new adventure for you, Lisa would prefer you work from a portrait that she will provide. Students working with the same image as Lisa will find learning her realistic painting techniques much easier. If you have taken some of Lisa's previous classes or consider yourself skilled at creating realistic portraits you are welcome to work from your own photograph of a family member or friend. Please do not paint from a photograph you have not obtained permission to use. |
