Oil Painting in Plein Air with John P. Lasater IV

Here is an opportunity to do two days of serious plein air painting with a rising star* in plein air painting world, John P. Lasater IV from NW Arkansas. John has been described as "A master at mixing oil paint; beautiful brilliant colors vibrate out of rich, subtle shadows...You need to see it in person to really appreciate his style." The workshop is designed for oil painters but other mediums are welcome.

Whether you’re a beginner or advanced painter, John's hands-on teaching approach will provide you with a unique plein air workshop experience. His demonstrations will give you insights into how to improve composition, technique and color harmony. Students will have the opportunity to practice the skills he teaches while he continually monitors and guides you through the painting process. You will walk away with confidence and new skills to help you become the artist you aspire to be.

The workshop will be limited to 16 artists so everyone will receive plenty of personal guidance from John. You need to provide your own painting supplies, canvases or canvas boards, and an easel suitable for plein-air painting. The workshop will include snacks, drinks and Diane's famous healthy lunches both days. Price for the two-day workshop will be $350. John will also be offering a one-evening nocturne painting workshop on Monday, September 15th. Price of the Monday evening workshop will be $95 but if you sign up for both, the nocturne workshop will be discounted $20. Total price of both workshops is $425.
